1. Mandatory Government Insurance (พ.ร.บ.)
Every registered vehicle must carry พ.ร.บ. insurance. It covers medical expenses up to ฿80,000 for third parties only — not you, not your bike, not property damage.
2. Voluntary 3rd Party Insurance
The best value for most riders. Extends your coverage to ฿10,000,000 including property damage and personal accident. Costs from ฿1,300/year.

3. Full Comprehensive Coverage (Class 1)
Covers everything — your bike, theft, fire, third parties, and you. Recommended for bike owners. For renters, choose a shop that includes it.
Our Recommendation
- Renting short-term? → Buy 3rd party insurance (from ฿100/day)
- Renting in Phuket? → Rent fully insured from Phuket Garage
- Own a bike? → Get comprehensive coverage from a Thai insurer
Critical: License + Insurance
Your insurance is void without a valid license. Make sure you have a Thai license or IDP before riding.
